My First Blog Post with Launch of this Website!

I’m so excited to launch my new website today for My Son’s Gift and publish my first blog entry!

My book had been a project in the making when I decided to push to final edits for publication towards the end of 2019. Circumstances caused me to table the book in early 2020. Then COVID-19 happened. I thought, “It seems to be a good time to publish my book with so many activities (unfortunately) cancelled and people spending more time at home”. Yes, true. But at the same time restrictions did not allow me to do something I was really looking forward to – getting out to meet people and talk about my book at book signings.

Well with regards to signed books, launching my website will give people another book purchase option – a signed first edition shipped directly from me. So pick the option on the Purchase page, still all for first editions, which works best for you. If it isn’t already, you can get your book signed at a later date. I will also sign for people who show up at a signing (hopefully in 2021) with my book in hand!

For you readers of My Son’s Gift, my website offers something I have also been doing through my social media pages – pictures you will not find in my book. I believe these enhance the story showing people, places, or events I talk about. Readers should be able to place the image into the proper part or parts in my book. I hope you enjoy them!

Please come back to this website often as it will be evolving. I’ve said I want to build a community around My Son’s Gift. I believe it is a great resource for anyone facing kidney transplant, but also extending (as I say on my Home page) to people facing other medical or personal challenges. I hope they draw inspiration from my book. Starting with kidney health, as I do with my other social media pages, I want to share information about how to keep your kidneys healthy. Beyond this other challenges will also be covered here.

You will see a Challenge Strong tab with contents “Under Construction”. These are future post-COVID plans that will include my availability for speaking engagements, making merchandise available featuring a logo found in the book, and other event productions. “Challenge Strong” is my new umbrella company with a strong influence from my martial arts background, which I talk about in My Son’s Gift, intended to offer people tools to be “Challenge Strong” while facing any obstacles that come up in life. Stay tuned for more information regarding this.

Questions about My Son’s Gift, my website, Challenge Strong, or anything else on your mind can be sent through the Contact page form which goes to the email address listed on the website.

There is so much more to talk about, but I’ll save those for future blogs.

Have a Happy, Healthy and Safe Thanksgiving 2020 everyone!
